New Fused Glass Sculpture by Douglas Randall

Doug Randall Glass Sculpture This entry brings some exciting news for those of you following/collecting the work of one of  Lovetts Gallery's newest artists, glass sculptor Doug Randall.  Following the first offering of Randall's work, Lovetts' collectors voiced their desire to see more Southwest designs in Randall's fused glass sculpture.  In response to this demand, we have just received four new pieces containing more Southwestern motifs.

As with most glass work, these pieces have a unique translucent quality to them, so seeing them in person is essential to really "seeing" the works for what they are.  Moreover, Doug Randall fuses his pieces in two ways.  The first is the obvious side-to-side fusing that creates the exterior structure.  However, the second is an inside-to-outside fusing that results in differing designs on the interior and exterior of the piece.  Again, another reason to see Randall's work in person.

In addition to these newest Southwestern works, Doug Randall is working on a few more strictly abstract/contemporary pieces that we should be seeing in the next month or so.
