Paul Rhymer: Wildlife in Bronze - Live Sculpt & New Works

Acclaimed wildlife bronze sculptor Paul Rhymer will once again join Lovetts Gallery for a day of live sculpting on Saturday, July 30th.  In addition to the live demonstration, Paul will be unveiling his newest creations including his first Oklahoma specific bronze Scissortail Flycatchers. This event will provide attendees with the first opportunity to collect this unique sculpture (at pre-cast pricing!!!), which is sure to be a popular one!  Pre-cast edition numbers will be available on a first come basis.

The public is invited to join us Saturday, July 30th between 10:00-5:00.

- - -  UPDATE  - - -

Many of you have heard or read that wildlife sculptor Paul Rhymer will be unveiling his first Oklahoma-specific piece, Scissortail Flycatchers.  This amazing piece utilizes two of the very popular basalt stone columns, however, they will be attached to a single base.

Paul will be offering this new sculpture, which will be at the gallery in wax form, at a special pre-cast price.  Numbers 1, 2, and 3 are already taken, so let us know soon if you would like to secure one of these Oklahoma beauties.

Remember, the photos you will see are of the wax sculpture, not the final bronze.  So, in effect, they are only the rough sketches!

Famed Cochiti Sculptor & Designer - Virgil Ortiz

Cirque We recently introduced you to one of Lovetts Gallery's newest artists, the famed Cochiti sculptor and designer, Virgil Ortiz.  The introdcutory signature piece, Cirque, which is part of a series by the same name, arrived at the gallery and was sold before anyone even had a chance to see it...a testament to the power of Ortiz's work.  The collector was gracious enough to leave the piece with us for an additional 7 days so that the rest of our collectors could have a chance to experience it (and probably pine for it!)!

In addition, the video below, which was produced by one of Virgil Ortiz's companies, MadeinNativeAmerica, features our Cirque piece as Virgil works on it.  This is an amazing video, enjoy!

"The fantasies and imagination Virgil Ortiz take a new turn in Contortionista: VO Cirque Performers. Ortiz has taken inspiration from the late 1800's Munos figures of Cochiti Pueblo which depicted Southwestern traveling circus sideshow acts. Today, Ortiz's pieces tumble, twist and meld together - they seemingly devy gravity as they rise above the pedestals, taking flight to the ceilings and the walls. Ortiz delivers - bringing VO Cirque Performers to the center ring; an unexpected exhibition." - MadeinNativeAmerica
